Content Overview

The content you create and share becomes the face of your business online. Having your brand's voice genuinely represented by your content is my primary mission.

Fun content

The world of content is absolutely saturated, and advertising is moving away from simply "getting the message out" and moving toward creating content that's fun.

Think Old Spice, Wendy's on Twitter, Purple Mattresses, etc. I work with brands to create content that's fun and, most importantly, memorable!

Engaging content

We want shares, likes, and comments; that's how the word gets out. The key to creating engaging content, content that reaches a ton of people, is creating content that helps your audience.

Think BuzzFeed quizzes, travel guides, etc. I make content that is useful, fun, and infinitely shareable.

In fact, the video post in the above thumbnail has been viewed more than 400,000 times.

Automated content

Content creation is only half the battle. The other half is content automation.

I work with software that automates your social accounts to reach wider audiences every day. Content is useless if no one is seeing it!

Content That Works

The key to building an audience is producing and sharing content that's helpful to them. In short, content should be about your audience and how you help them.

There's no secret sauce to growth, the recipe is simple:

  • Produce content that helps an audience.
  • Produce content that inspires an audience.

If a product is helpful and the message behind the product is inspiring, people will buy it!

That audience will become loyal and follow your message along the way.

My Process

I love learning and I love solving puzzles. I take a goal-oriented approach to content creation. This allows me to stay open-minded and keeps me from just doing the "same old thing" for every project.

I build my goals into my project management platforms, with a log for keeping track of what works, doesn't work, and so on. Take a look:

I'd never worked on a Pinterest account before Pinto Ranch asked me to work on theirs. So I made this Trello board, which I designed to help me keep track of my work and progress.

On the left I link to articles about Pinterest. Whenever I find an article with new and useful information, I link to it on this board for reference.

Moving to the right I have boards for:

  • Ideas to implement
  • What I'm doing now
  • My to-do list
  • Successes
  • Failures*
  • Conclusions
  • Goals

*I always want to know what my failures are. Failure is the best teacher, after all.

More importantly, I don't see failure as anything other than a road that didn't lead to where I want to go. I just look for a different road and try again.

Similarly, I keep track of what did work and. For both successes and failures, I document my conclusions and treat those as rules for future work.

I began implementing my ideas for Pinterest on June 1, 2018, after the Pinto Ranch Pinterest had been trending down.

As you can see, Pinto Ranch's daily impressions and clicks have risen dramatically.
